The SWI Foundation extends its deep appreciation to the Associated Electric Cooperative for its continued sponsorship of this event!

The 2012 SWI Annual Golf Tournament evolved to greater heights, thanks to the dedication of Lisa Miller, chairperson, and her committee members.  The committee always desires to make our tournament stand out above all others. This year they seized the opportunity to move the event to the prestigious “Hickory Hill’s Country Club”! In addition to the new venue, there were new games, the ever-popular “Day Spa for player spouses”, and the dazzling silent and live auctions. We ended the evening with an incredible dinner, prepared by the chefs at Hickory Hills.

One of our new adventures was to sponsor a Springfield Workshop, Inc. (SWI) employee as a “Workshop Player”, instead of sponsoring a hole or cart.  “So many of our employees are not able to enjoy a game of golf because of their disabilities, so we created a way for them to be a part of the fun!” said Dave Dunn, Executive Director for the Springfield Workshop Foundation. “Each sponsored SWI player had their name and the name of their sponsor posted at a tee on the course. The sponsored SWI player also had their name entered into a drawing for some great prizes! It was like sponsoring a hole, but a WHOLE lot nicer!” Dunn said.

Proceeds from this year’s event are going toward development of some very special projects that will aide in the creation of a full service cafeteria for the employees, a greenhouse to grow vegetables for the cafeteria (and sell to the public) and classroom space for wellness and life skills classes! This is a huge project, and “THANKS” to your help, by participating as sponsors, you are making a difference in the lives of others!

Following the tournament, players and friends gathered for drinks at the open bar, shopped the silent auction and then were escorted to the Ball Room to enjoy the delectable dinner, prepared by Hickory Hill’s outstanding chefs. We finished the evening with the incredible “live” auction!
We deeply appreciate all our wonderful sponsors; Associated Electric Cooperative, Inc., Burns & McDonnell, Great Southern, Jackson Brothers, Kiewit, Ridewell Suspensions, Schneider Electric Company, Siemens and Sega and Ashley Lauren Salon.
